NPFL: Remo Stars Get First Win In Seven Games, Insurance Destroys Ikorodu City

Nigeria Premier Football League Champions, Remo Stars got their first league win in seven games after a two-zero win over Katsina United at the Remo Stars stadium in Ikenne yesterday.

HARUNA HADI scored the two goals for the Sky Blue Stars in what was Technical Adviser Usman Abd'Allah's first game in charge of the Ikenne-based club.

Elsewhere, Lagos-based club Ikorodu City suffered their heaviest league defeat of the season after losing four-zero away to Bendel Insurance at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium.

Alex Oweilayefa scored a hat-trick while Wisdom Udom added another for Bendel Insurance, a result that lifted Insurance to 6th on the NPFL table.

In other NPFL games, Enyimba were held to a one-one draw at home against Kun Khalifat, and Shooting Stars got a two-one home win over Kano Pillars while Rangers International moved top of the league with a two-zero win over Nasarawa United.

Warri Wolves forced Niger Tornadoes to a nil-nil draw, Bayelsa United beat Rivers United one-zero, Kwara United got the better of Wikki Tourist with a single goal and in Maiduguri, El Kanemi Warriors defeated Abia Warriors two-zero.
