POLICE RESCUE 4 SUSPECTED BURGLARS FROM LYNCH MOB IGODE, OGUN STATE
Operatives from the Igode Divisional Police Station in Ogun State have rescued four suspected burglars from an angry mob at Igode, Ogun State.
The suspects, who are currently in custody, were caught after breaking into a private residence in the town in the late hours of Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, Omolara Odutola, said a resident of Igando, Lagos, alerted the command about the report of the burglary attack at Moro community.
Odutola said the suspects allegedly scaled the fence of the property and stole a pumping machine valued at ₦120,000, plus a metal scaffolding valued at ₦350,000.
She during interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and admitted to being in possession of the stolen items, as well as cable wires and iron scraps, which were also recovered from them.
She PPRO informed members of the public that the Ogun State Police Command strongly condemns mob attacks and jungle justice, stressing that all suspects are entitled to due process under the law.
She urged residents of the state to report criminal activities to the police and allow law enforcement agencies to handle such matters professionally.
