Portrait by Nigerian Artist Unveiled at Obama Presidential Center, Chicago

Former President of the United States, BARACK OBAMA, has unveiled an iconic painting by gifted Nigerian artist NJIDEKA AKUNYILI CROSBY, ahead of the opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.

NJIDEKA AKUNYILI CROSBY is the daughter of late Professor DORA AKUNYILI, former Minister of Information and erstwhile Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC.

In a social post accompanying photos of the portrait of himself and former US First Lady MICHELLE, BARACK OBAMA said it was their first together, and he described NJIDEKA as a gifted Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based artist.

OBAMA said the art piece reflects so many chapters of MICHELLE and his story, adding that they were thrilled that it would be on display in the Hope and Change lobby of the Chicago-based center.
