2027: 65 Aspirants Fail Rivers APC Screening for House of Assembly Primaries

The screening committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Rivers State House of Assembly aspirants has cleared thirty-three aspirants for the party primaries.

The report of the APC screening committee, which was released earlier today, indicate that sixty-five of the total nine-eight aspirants were disqualified from participating in the party primaries.

Those cleared include all twenty-nine incumbent lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly, who are said to be aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, NYESOM WIKE.

The Speaker of the House, MARTIN AMAEWHULE, is not in the list, as he is reported to have obtained the APC nomination forms for the House of Representatives.

The APC screening committee cited various reasons for disqualifying several of the aspirants, including attempted inducement, conflicting dates of birth, failure to present voter cards or party membership slips, and not being financially up-to-date as members of the party.
