7 AFRICAN COUNTRIES FACE VISA RESTRICTION, AS U.S. TRAVEL BAN BEGINS
The enforcement of the new United States travel ban against citizens of twelve countries kicks in today.
The travel restriction approved by President DONALD TRUMP affects seven African countries, comprising Chad, Eritrea, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Congo-Brazzaville and Equatorial Guinea.
Outside of Africa, citizens of Afghanistan, Myanmar, Haiti, Iran, and Yemen are also banned from entering the US under the TRUMP travel ban.
There are also partial restrictions on nationals from additional seven countries, namely Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela.
President TRUMP said the list could be revised if material improvements were made, while other countries could be added as threats emerge around the world.
The White House said these common-sense restrictions would protect Americans from dangerous foreign actors.
