DR NWAEKE RESIGNS AS RIVERS STATE HOS, AS SOLE ADMINISTRATOR APPOINTS PROF WORIKA NEW SSG

The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (Rtd), has appointed Professor Ibibia Lucky Worika as the new Secretary to the State Government.

A statement from the Government House Press Unit confirming the development noted that the appointment of Professor Ibibia Lucky Worika followed a careful consideration of his credentials, extensive experience, and performance.

It further noted that Professor Worika, who hails from Okirika, until his appointment, was the Director of the Centre for Advanced Law Research at the Rivers State University.

It said Professor Worika had previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Port Harcourt, where he played a pivotal role in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and fostering collaborations between the university and public institutions.

Meanwhile, Dr George Nwaeke has resigned his appointment as Head of Civil Service of Rivers State, with Dr Mrs Iyingi Brown named as his replacement.

The Chief of Staff to the Sole Administrator who made the announcement, said Dr Mrs Iyingi Brown was the Permanent Secretary Welfare, Office of the Head of Service, and she is to take charge as Interim Head of Service.
