HOMELAND CONSCIOUSNESS: GOVERNOR SOLUDO SEEKS SUPPORT OF ANAMBRA INDIGENES IN LAGOS FOR ONGOING TURNAROUND AS INVESTMENT DESTINATION

Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has challenged people of state to take ownership of the homeland consciousness initiative of his administration and support ongoing turnaround to position Anambra as a destination that people would be excited to visit and do business.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo said his administration had invested heavily in the infrastructure and economic transformation of Anambra State.

Professor Soludo said these include the completion of about four hundred and ten kilometres of new roads, and the rehabilitation of over four hundred dilapidated roads in the state.

Soludo also announced that the masterplan for the proposed Anambra State rail network has been completed, adding that over six thousand houses would have to be pulled down to make way for the project.

He shared the information while addressing a gathering of Anambra State indigenes in Lagos, at an event tagged ‘Anambra Homeland Consciousness’, which was held in Amuwo Odofin Estate on Sunday.

Furthermore, the Governor of Anambra State Governor defended the ongoing security clampdown on suspected money ritualists in the state.

Professor Chukwuma Soludo said that the move was not against genuine traditionalists but intended to flush out criminal gangs involved in kidnapping for ransom, who depend on the ritualists for fortification.

The Governor also lamented that several Anambra indigenes are languishing in prisons in overseas countries because of their involvement in crimes due to the deception of the money ritualists.
