INEC Confirms 1,059,360 Registered Voters for Ekiti State Guber

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has presented a list of over one million voters for the Ekiti State governorship election. INEC Chairman, Professor JOASH AMUPITAN, said the voter register for Ekiti State contains one million, fifty-nine thousand, three hundred and sixty voters. Professor AMUPITAN made this known when he led INEC’s National Commissioners on a visit to Ekiti State to formerly present the Register of Voters to the various political parties. AMUPITAN and members of his team were received on arrival at Ado-Ekiti by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, BUNMI OMOSEYINDEMI. The REC said the visit further demonstrated INEC’s commitment to ensuring adequate preparation and successful conduct of the governorship election. OMOSEYINDEMI further noted that the Ekiti State office of INEC had made steady progress in all aspects of electoral preparation. He said the Commission was collaborating with security agencies, political parties, traditional institutions, civil society organisations and the media to ensure a peaceful, credible, inclusive and transparent election.
