Lagos CP, OLOHUNDARE JIMOH, Steps Up to AIG, as PSC Splashes Promotions on 84 Senior Police Officers

The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of thirteen Commissioners of Police to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG, including OLOHUNDARE JIMOH of the Lagos State Police Command.
Other newly promoted AIGs include EMMANUEL ADO CHRISTOPHER of the Yobe State Command, JOSEPH ERIBO of Ekiti State Command, DANTAWAYE MILLER of the FCT Command, and OLARENWAJU OGUNLOWO of the Ogun State Command.
Also on the list are UCHE IFEANYI HENRY, who is the Director of the NPF-National Cyber Crime Center; as well as MUHAMMAD DAHIRU of Jigawa Command, DANKOMBO MORRIS of Adamawa Command, BELLO SHEHU of Katsina Command, IBRAHIM MAIKABA of Zamfara Command, AHMED MUSA of Sokoto Command, HARUNA OLUFEMI of Oyo Command, and SIMEON UDOFIA AKPANUDOM of the Anti-Fraud FCID Annex, Lagos.
The Head of Protocol and Public Affairs of the Police Service Commission, TORTY NJOKU KALU, said the promoted police officers were adjudged to have recorded successful performance in the recently concluded written examinations and oral interviews held at the PSC’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
KALU disclosed in a statement confirming the development that the list of newly promoted police officers has been formally conveyed to the Inspector-General of Police for immediate implementation.
He said the list also include the names of seventeen Deputy Commissioners of Police who were promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police, as well as nineteen Assistant Commissioners of Police who were elevated to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The following are the new Commissioners of Police:

- Abbas Sule (DC DFA INTERPOL)
- Ojugbele E. Adebola (DC OPS Zone 2 Lagos)
- Preye Raymond Egbetokun (DC DFA Akwa-Ibom Command)
- Kayode Uthman Magaji (Community Policing, R&P, FHQ, Abuja)
- Adebisi Bola Lateef (DC DFA Osun Command)
- Markus Ishaku Basiran (DC DFA Zone 6 Calabar)
- Silas Bamidele Aremu (DD Admin DoLS)
- Sylvester Onyie Uzoefuna (DC DOPS Cross River Command)
- Magaji Ismaila (DC Projects PAB FHQ Abuja)
- Theodore Chukwuemeka Obasi (DC Maritime Lagos)
- Sarah Idowu Ehindero (DC DFA Ogun State Command)
- Hayatu Shaffa Hassan (DC SID Abia State Command)
- Mohammed Babakura (DC Inspectorate DTD)
- Danjuma I. Yahaya (DC DOPS Zone 12 Bauchi)
- Rebecca Uchenna Okereke (Band Master)
Furthermore, the PSC also approved the promotion of thirty-five Chief Superintendents of Police to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police.
The statement quoted the PSC Chairman, HASHIMU ARGUNGU, congratulating the promoted police officers, and describing their elevation as a recognition of their merit, dedication, and excellence in service.
ARGUNGU, who is a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, charged the promoted officers to redouble their efforts and justify their new ranks through unwavering commitment to effective policing and national security.
He equally commended the PSC Board members, including Hon. Justice PAUL ADAMU GALUMJE (JSC rtd), Dr. TAIWO LAKANU (DIG rtd), and the Secretary to the Commission, Chief ONYEMUCHE NNAMANI, for their invaluable contributions to the success of the exercise.
