LASG Postpones Reconstruction of Lekki-Ajah Expressway
Planned rehabilitation work on the Lekki-Ajah Corridor of the Lekki-Epe Expressway has been postponed indefinitely.
The massive road reconstruction work was intended to last for eight months, beginning from last Saturday, November 15, 2025.
The Commissioner for Transportation, OLUWASEUN OSIYEMI, announced the change of plan in a statement published on the official Facebook page of the Lagos State Government.
OSIYEMI stated a new commencement date would be communicated to the public in due course, while preliminary activities would continue till the end of the month.
He said the Lagos State Government appreciates the understanding and patience of all road users, and remains committed to improving road infrastructure and ensuring safer, more efficient transportation for all.
There had been public concerns about alternative access routes within the Lekki axis before undertaking the rehabilitation of the rapidly deteriorating Lekki-Epe Expressway.
