MAIDEN NATIONAL POLICE DAY: OGUN STATE MAPS OUT SERIES OF ACTIVITIES

The Ogun State Police Command has flagged off activities for the commemoration of the National Police Day, slated for April 7, 2025.

This is in line with the declaration by IGP Kayode Egbetokun, Ph.D, following a presidential directive to establish an annual National Police Day in recognition of the invaluable contributions and commitment of police officers to nation building.

The Ogun State Police Command is using the opportunity to strengthen collaborations with communities to engender public trust through Police Public Engagement.

The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola, said the commemoration began Wednesday April 2, 2025 with the flag-off of the re-construction of the POWA Acquisition Centre at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran.

CSP Odutola said on Thursday, April 3, 2025, there would be a Town Hall meeting with critical stakeholders to address security challenges and proffer collective solutions.

Thereafter, Friday, April 4, 2025, will feature Community Engagement where Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers will interface with the public on the importance of National Police Day.

The PPRO further disclosed in a statement that on Saturday, April 5, 2025, the Command would organise a free medical outreach service to community members to enhance public health, as well as sanitisation and cleanup of public spaces.

She further noted that; "As we celebrate National Police Day, the Ogun State Command warmly invite members of the public to join in the celebration."
