NDC Fixes Presidential Primary for May 29, With Forms Pegged at N60m

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has fixed its presidential primary for May 29 in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, with the nomination and expression of interest forms pegged at Sixty Million Naira.

This was made known in a statement unveiling the timetable and schedule of activities of the NDC in the buildup to the 2027 general elections, which begins today, May 13, 2026, with the sale of expression of interest form.

Thereafter, aspirants on the platform of the NDC are to appear for screening and interviews from May 19 to May 21, after which the sale of Nomination Forms will begin on the same day and concluded on May 23.

Before the presidential primary on May 29, the NDC also plans to hold primaries for other elective positions on May 27 and May 28.

The NDC has also set the price for governorship forms at Thirty Million Naira; Senatorial forms will go for Eight Million Naira; while aspirants for House of Representatives will pay Six Million Naira to obtain their forms.

Additionally, those who wish to obtain forms to vie for NDC tickets for State House of Assembly elections are required to pay Two-Point-Five Million Naira.

However, the NDC is offering fifty percent discount for female aspirants and twenty-five percent discount for persons with disability seeking to obtain the party’s nomination forms across all levels of the elections.

Furthermore, the NDC said it would adopt the open secret ballot for its primaries in order to guarantee credibility, fairness and internal democracy.

According to the statement published on the social media handle of the NDC, the party said all aspirants would be required to sign an undertaking in line with its guidelines and code of conduct.
