Osun Decide in Pictures: INEC Moves Personnel and Sensitive Materials to RAC Centres
Sensitive materials and personnel for the Osun State governorship election have been moved from the state secretariat of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to the various local government areas, also known as Registration Area Centres.
The movement of the materials and personnel was supervised by top INEC officials deployed for the Osun State election, under close observation of security personnel on election duty, as well as agents of political parties, election observers and journalists covering the election.
INEC estimates that over one-point-nine voters will take part in the election tomorrow, based on the number of registered voters in Osun State who have collected their Permanent Voter Cards.
The figure represents eighty-one-point-five percent of the total two million, three hundred and thirty-nine thousand, two hundred and thirty-three registered voters in the state.
INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, MOHAMMED KUDU HARUNA, shared details on the anticipated voters in a statement.
HARUNA said over four hundred and twenty-six thousand Permanent Voter Cards, representing eighteen-point-five percent of the registered voters, have not been collected.
