POINTS RAISED IN ‘GROSS MISCONDUCT’ ALLEGATIONS AGAINST RIVERS STATE GOVERNOR, SIMINALAYI FUBARA
  • Reckless and unconstitutional expenditure of public funds
  • Hindering or obstructing the Rivers State House of Assembly
  • Appointment of persons to occupy offices/positions in the Rivers State Government without legislative screening and confirmation
  • Seizure of salaries, allowances and funds meant for the Rivers State House of Assembly
  • 26 House of Assembly members signed document containing the allegations.

They alleged that Governor Fubara had shown that he was not prepared to government Rivers State in line with provisions of the 1999 Constitution

They cited the recent judgment of the Supreme Court which stated that for fear of impeachment, Governor Fubara attacked the legislature, the constitution, and the rule of law due to political disagreement.
