POLICE TAKE CUSTODY OF 2 YOUNG BOYS FOUND WANDERING ON LONG BRIDGE, OGUN STATE

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have rescued 2 young boys who were seen wandering alone the Long Bridge axis on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola, said the boys, identified as Awali Abdulrazak and Aliu Abdulrasheed, both 15-years old, with average height of 5.5ft and 5.6th, were seen at about 05:55 hour on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

CSP Odutola said operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer of Warewa Division encountered the two young boys along the Long Bridge outward Lagos, and they had no clear sense of their destination.

The PPRO said out of concern for the safety of the boys, the dark complexion boys were questioned by the police and they claimed to be trekking to Oloje, Ilorin, Kwara State.

She said their responses were coherent, and they communicated fluently in Yoruba and English.

The Police spokesman said the boys are currently in police custody, as the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, directed that they should be given medical care and welfare support.

She also said that efforts are ongoing to trace their parents or guardians.
