PSC CHAIR LEADS BOARD MEMBERS TO IKOT EKPENE ON 3-DAY INDUCTION PROGRAMME
The Police Service Commission is set to host its newly appointed Board Members for an Induction and Strategic Management Session in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State.
The three-day session at the Four Points by Sheraton, Ikot Ekpene,
will hold from Monday, April 28 to Wednesday April 30 2025.
The ceremony will provide a platform for the PSC board members to engage critical stakeholders on strategies for the strenghtening of the institutional capacity of the Nigeria Police Force and deepening accountability in law enforcement governance.
The Senate President, Senator Godswil Akpabio, is expected to attend the event as the Special Guest of Honour, alongside other Members of the National Assembly and some State Governors.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the National Security Adviser, the Minister of Police Affairs, the Inspector General of Police are also expected to be in attendance.
PSC spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, in a statement, noted that the Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu rtd mni, will lead the Board Members for the three days induction ceremony, which he said was coming at a time the commission needed more impetus in the discharge of its constitutional oversight mandate.
Ani further noted that the event is also aimed at familiarizing the new appointees with their roles in overseeing police operations, promoting accountability, and driving reforms within the Nigeria Police Force.
