PSC SET TO BEGIN FRESH ROUND OF POLICE CADET, CONSTABLE RECRUITMENT
The Police Service Commission is concluding arrangements for the next round of recruitment of Cadets and Constables into the Nigeria Police Force.
The Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd), made this known in Abuja, Wednesday June 4, 2025, when he led a management delegation on a visit to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission to discuss partnership for the Police Recruitment exercise.
DIG Argungu solicited the assistance from the Data Protection Commission to ensure that only credible Nigerians are recruited into the Nigeria Police Force.
He said that data currently rules the world, adding that with accurate data which is protected "we can plan and ensure that proper background checks will be received on all the applicants who are desirious for a career in the Nigeria Police Force.
"We are here to fortify the Commission in its recruitment exercises. We need to know who we are recruiting and we want to partner with you to make it a success"
The PSC Chairman, however, lamented the inability of the Commission to access the Nigeria Identity Management Commission Data base and pleaded with the National Commissioner of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, Dr. Vincent Olatunji to intervene.
In his response, the National Commissioner promised to do what was necessary to ensure that the PSC is provided with the required access into the NIMC data base for effective, efficient and credible recruitment.
