PSC STAFF ARRIVE 17 POLICE ZONAL COMMANDS FOR INSPECTORS PROMOTION INTERVIEW
The Departmental Selection Board interview for Police Inspectors due for promotion to the next rank of unconfirmed Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP 2) begins tomorrow, Monday, May 19, 2025.
The promotion interview holds in all the 17 Police Zonal Command Headquarters across the federation, and will be jointly supervised by the officials of the Police Service Commission and some senior Police Officers.
PSC Commissioners are expected to monitor the exercise in their respective geopolitical zones to ensure that the credibility of the exercise is not diluted.
PSC spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, who confirmed the development in a statement, noted that the Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd), had earlier warned that the promotion interview was not a do or die exercise, insisting that the Commission would deal with any one trying to compromise its integrity.
The PSC Chairman noted that promotion in the Nigeria Police Force will always be based on merit and availability of vacancies, just as he advised Police Officers scheduled for the interview to be prepared to face the panel and earn their promotion.
He said the Commission was committed to building a new Police culture where merit, competence, and ability to innovate are paramount, especially in this era of intelligence policing. He advised the candidates to have confidence in the system and allow for a smooth and credible exercise.
