SOLE ADMINISTRATOR SACKS ALL POLITICAL OFFICE HOLDERS AND APPOINTEES IN RIVERS STATE

The new Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas Rtd has suspended all political office holders and appointees in the state with immediate effect.

This was announced in a statement simply signed by the Chief of Staff to the Sole Administrator (without an actual name), which was circulated through the email of the Government House Press Unit.

According to the statement, those affected include the Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff to the Governor, All Commissioners, Chairmen and members of all boards, councils of agencies, commissions, institutions, and parastatals, as well as all Special Advisers, Special Assistants, and Senior Special Assistants.

They were all directed to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries or Senior Directors or Heads of Administration in the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

It noted that the decision is in line with the powers of the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas, following his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Recall that President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, thereby suspending Governor Siminalayi Fubara, the Deputy Governor, Prof Ngozi Nma-Odu, and the entire members of the House of Assembly.
