2 RIFLES, 38 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION RECOVERED FROM ABANDONED BUILDING IN VICTORIA ISLAND, LAGOS

The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation following the recovery of 2 pieces of LR rifles and 38 live ammunitions from an abandoned building in Victoria Island.

An operative of the Lagos State Police Command is said to have recovered the items at about 18:10hrs on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, and deposited same at the Victoria Island Police Division.

Information obtained by our correspondent indicates that the building where the rifles and ammunition were found had been acquired by a furniture company and the place was being cleanup when the items were discovered.

The police are being silent on the name of the operative that recovered the items and the exact location where the building in order not to compromise the ongoing investigation or unduly spike tension in the area.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, who is a Chief Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incident, adding that the riles and ammunition have been deposited at the State Armoury, as the investigation proceeds.
