CMS-MARINA BRIDGE ROBBERY: POLICE ARREST SUSPECT, RECOVER N20M GOODS STOLEN FROM MOVING TRUCK
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a member the notorious traffic robbery gang operating on the CMS-Marina bridge in Lagos Island, with a bale of human hair extension valued at over N2,000,000 (Two Million Naira).
The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspect, identified simply as Austine, and other gang members still at large, stole the goods from a truck in transit along the CMS-Marina bridge on April 25, 2025, without the knowledge of the driver.
CSP Hundeyin said detectives at the Ebute-Ero division were notified about the incident and they swung into action, tracked down one of the thieve at the Marina under-bridge car park, and also recovered the stolen goods.
CSP Hundeyin said the suspect was also found with injuries he sustained after jumping off the Marina bridge, and has been taken to a hospital for treatment under strict police watch.
He said detectives are currently on a manhunt to arrest other members of the notorious traffic robbery gang that operates on the CMS-Marina bridge axis on Lagos Island.
The PPRO also said the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has reaffirmed the unwavering determination of the Lagos State Police Command to ensure the safety of all road users across the state.
He also calls on residents to remain alert and cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activity.
