GOV FUBARA URGES HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY TO CONSIDER RIVERS INTEREST FIRST

Embattled Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has urged members of the State House of Assembly to put the interest of the state above all personal considerations in the implementation of the Supreme Court judgement on the political crisis in the state.

Governor Fubara also reiterated his commitment to the implementation the Supreme Court judgement, adding that the House of Assembly must equally comply with the ruling in the overall interest of the state.

The Governor said that both sides must work collectively towards ensuring peace in the state, without which he said no arm of government would be able to function properly to deliver good service to the people.

He emphasized that without an enduring peace, sustainable development would be hampered, while security, stability, and the well-being to pursue goals would suffer.

Governor Fubara shared his views during the inauguration of the renovated eight-five-year-old Okrika Grammar School in Okrika Local Government Area on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

The Governor recalled how the planning committee for the 20th Anniversary of the Diocese of Okrika Anglican Communion paid him a visit and appealed for the Rivers State Government to help give the school a facelift.

Governor Fubara said he granted the request on the premise of the school filled in history and the importance of quality education in addressing social vices among young people.
