LAGOS POLICE COMMAND CONFIRMS RESCUE OF 2 PERSONS KIDNAPPED AT IJEDE
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have rescued 2 persons who were kidnapped at Ijede community in Ikorodu Local Government Area on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the victims, identified simply as Dare, ‘m’, aged 40years, and Taiwo, ‘f’, aged 25years, were rescued at about midnight on Friday, March 29, 2025.
Hundeyin; a Chief Superintendent of Police, recalled that the armed kidnappers had on Wednesday, at about 2100hrs, broke into the house of Dare, killed his security dog, before taking him away.
The PPRO said thereafter, the criminal gang also attacked another nearby compound where they kidnapped Taiwo, the landlord’s daughter.
He said soon after the incident was reported to the police, operatives were mobilised to the area, following which the victims were rescued, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the suspects.
The Police spokesman said that the Ijede area where the incident happened remains relatively calm and is being closely monitored.
