NDLEA BURST WIDOW TRAFFICKING COCAINE UNDER FAKE PREGNANCY
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested a woman who faked pregnancy to traffic cocaine.
The woman, identified as fifty-year-old widow, IFEOMA HENRIETTA EZEWUIKE, owns a fashion outfit on Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos.
EFCC spokesman, FEMI BABAFEMI, disclosed in a statement that the suspect was arrested on Friday, August 22, at a bus terminal in Jibowu, Yaba, while attempting to move cocaine consignment to Abuja.
BABAFEMI said the woman hid one-point-three kilograms of cocaine, using fake pregnancy as a façade to escape scrutiny and detection.
He said operatives also searched the suspect’s house at Ago Palace and recovered two hundred grams of cutting agent used in the production of a strain of cocaine.
The NDLEA spokesman said during interrogation, IFEOMA HENRIETTA EZEWUIKE claimed she inherited the drug trade from her husband who died two years ago.
