POLICE ARREST 5,488 SUSPECTED CRIMINALS IN 2 MONTHS, AS IGP ATTENDS CONFERENCE WITH SENIOR OFFICERS
The Inspector-General of Police, KAYODE EGBETOKUN, has reaffirmed the commitment of the leadership to the Force to improving on the welfare of both serving and retired officers.
IGP EGBETOKUN made the pledge at a conference with senior police officers from the ranks of Commissioner of Police, which was held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP MUYIWA ADEJOBI, said the conference focused on addressing changes in security landscape, threats and reinforcing the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
ACP ADEJOBI said during the conference, the IGP commended senior officers for their dedication and operational efficiency and sacrifices for public safety in the last two months.
ADEJOBI said from the month of June this year till date, the Nigeria Police Force arrested a total of five thousand, four hundred and eighty-eight suspected criminals in various operations across the country.
In a statement, the Force PRO said that operatives also recovered three hundred and sixteen assorted firearms and two thousand, eight hundred and eighty-four rounds of ammunition.
He also said that one hundred and seventy victims of kidnapping were rescued and two hundred and sixteen stolen vehicles recovered during the period under review.
