POLICE ARREST KIDNAP KINGPIN, RECOVER FIREARMS IN OGUN STATE
The Ogun State Police Command says its operatives have foiled an attempted kidnap of an unnamed prominent individual at Ago Village, Abigi, in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP OMOLOLA ODUTOLA, said detectives also arrested the culprit, identified as CLEMENT ELIJAH, whom she said had been on the run since 2024 in connection to a high-profile kidnapping at Ajelanwa village.
CSP ODUTOLA disclosed in a statement that the suspect arrived in Ibiade community on June 13, 2025, on a mission to abduct a prominent individual at Ago Village, Abigi.
The PPRO said the plan was thwarted through collaboration between the police and vigilant residents, following which one POSI FRIDAY was also arrested with a pump-action rifle, a locally fabricated pistol and eight live cartridges concealed in a Boom Speaker.
She said operatives of the Anti-Cultism Team of the Ogun State Police Command also arrested fourteen suspected cultists involved in an alleged plot to cause violence at Ijagun, Ogbo, Ijele areas of Imaweje in Ijebu Ode.
