POLICE CLEANUP PUBLIC SPACES IN LAGOS TO CELEBRATES MAIDEN NIGERIA POLICE WEEK

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have carried out cleanup of major public spaces and bus-stops in the city of Lagos as part of activities lined up for the maiden edition of the Nigeria Police Week.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared that the first week of April every year should be observed as Police Week, culminating on April 7 as National Police Day.

The occasion is set aside to honour personnel of the Nigeria Police Force in recognition of their contributions to the internal security of the Nation, through the maintenance of law and order across the country.

In line with the directive, the Lagos State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Olohundare Jimoh, approved the commencement of the maiden Police Week from April 3, with the theme: “Inclusive Policing: A Panacea to Improved Security and Economic Growth in Lagos State”

The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed in a statement that the theme highlights the importance of collaborative efforts among security stakeholders and synergy with sister security services to ensure the safety of lives and property in Lagos State.

Also, the CSP Hundeyin said the Lagos State Police Command organised a health and wellness outreach at the Computer Village, Ikeja, where participants were offered free medical check-ups, wellness talk, and mental health awareness orientation.
