Police Track Down Lagos Cab Driver Accused of Serial Rape, Robbery of Female Passengers

The police in Lagos State have arrested a taxi driver accused of multiple rape, sexual assault and robbery of unsuspecting female passengers.

The suspect whose name was given as ADEDAYO BEN ADEGBOLA, is said to have been identified by some of his victims in viral online posts.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP ABIMBOLA ADEBISI said detectives tracked down ADEGBOLA on October 31, 2025.

SP ADEBISI said a red-coloured Toyota Corolla vehicle used by the suspect for his operations was also recovered by the police, while the man is currently in detention.

The PPRO said based on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, OLOHUNDARE JIMOH, those who may have been attacked by the suspects are advised to come forward and share information that could help in the investigation and prosecution of the case, with the assurance of the protection of their identities.
