VERYDARKMAN JOINS BENUE YOUTH GROUP IN PROTEST OVER DEADLY ATTACKS IN YELWATA

Some youths of Benue State have staged a protest in Makurdi over the latest attack and killings in Yelwata on Saturday.

Reports indicate that the angry youths stormed the Wurukum food basket roundabout early on Sunday morning.

They were later joined by popular social media influencer and activist, MARTIN OTSE, better known as VERYDARKMAN.

The State Deputy Governor, SAM ODE, was also at the location, but the protesters refused to listen to him, insisting that they wanted to hear directly from Governor HYACINTH ALIA.

One of the protest leaders, identified as SOLOMON AMANDE, told journalists that the youths were angry at the silence and inaction of the Federal Government under President BOLA TINUBU.

The protesters were forced to dispersed after armed policemen and soldiers were deployed to the scene fired tear gas at them.

Earlier, the Chairman of Guma Local Government Area, MAURICE ORWOUGH, confirmed that dozens of people were killed in the Friday night attack in Yelwata border town between Benue and Nasarawa states.
