Lagos Courts Convict 5 Drug Kingpins, As Celebrity Club Owner, Pretty Mike Secures N50m Bail
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has secured the conviction of three drug kingpins who were arrested for attempting to smuggle cocaine to Australia, through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos.
The convicts include OLASUPO MICHAEL OLADIMEJI, MUAEZEE ADEMOLA OGUNBIYI, and SOLA ADEGOKE who were arraigned before Justice MUSA KAKAKI of the Federal High Court in Lagos and sentenced to five years in prison each, without the option of fine.
The trio were arrested on August 26, 2025 in connection with seizure of seventeen-point-nine kilogram of cocaine, which was concealed in textile materials, as well as twenty-point-five kilogram of Canadian Loud recovered from OGUNBIYI’s home in Lekki.
Similarly, Justice AMBROSE LEWIS-ALLAGOA of the Federal High Court in Lagos also convicted and sentenced OBUNIKE JOSEPH OBICHUKWU and UZORCHUKWU GODSPOWER CHUKWURAH to three years in prison each.
Both men are also to forfeit the sum of Four Million Naira they offered to NDLEA operatives as bribe, after they pleaded guilty to charges of attempted smuggling of cocaine and tramadol to Gabon.
However, Justice LEWIS-ALLAGOA allowed the convicts an option of Two Million Naira fine each after they pleaded guilty to the drug trafficking charges the NDLEA preferred against them.
In a separate matter, Justice LEWIS-ALLAGOA granted bail to a popular Lagos entertainer and nightclub owner, MIKE NWALIE, alias PRETTY MIKE, in the sum of Fifty Million Naira, following his arraignment for alleged drug-related offences.
PRETTY MIKE was arraigned alongside the manager of his Proxy Lagos Night Club, JOACHIM HILLARY, who were both arrested when NDLEA operatives raided a drug party at the club in Victoria Island on October 26, 2025.
