NDLEA Arrests Italy-Bound Bizman with Cocaine Concealed in Shoes, Bags
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested one PHILIP TUNDE for alleged smuggling of cocaine through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos.
Thirty-eight-year-old PHILIP TUNDE was on his way to Milan, Italy, when he was intercepted in connection with four-point-eight kilograms of cocaine concealed in the soles of his shoes and railings of his travelling.
TUNDE was stopped at the joint screening point of the Lagos Airport Terminal 2 on Sunday, September 27, 2026, while attempting to board a Royal Air Maroc flight to Milan, Italy.
NDLEA spokesman, FEMI BABAFEMI, said operatives recovered sixteen parcels of cocaine hidden in the soles of eight pairs of trainers and canvas shoes, plus hundred and ninety-five wraps of the same substance concealed in the railings of four travelling bags.
BABAFEMI said during interview, PHILIP TUNDE claimed to have paid Sixteen Millio Naira in cash for the cocaine in the shoes, while the consignment in the bags was meant for delivery to his partner in Italy.
The suspect purported confessed that he raised the money from compensation paid to him for an injury at a plastic manufacturing company in Italy, in which he lost the tips of two fingers.
