OSGF DISTANCES SELF FROM ALLEGATIONS OF CORRUPTION
The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has washed its hands off an ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of allegations of corruption, bribery, and money laundering involving one of its officials.
The subject of the EFCC investigation is one Andrew Torhile Uchi, who is the Personal Assistant to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.
The Director of Information and Public Relations in the OSGF, Segun Imohiosen, made the clarification in a statement, reiterating its commitment to transparency, accountability and integrity.
Imohiosen said it was imperative to state clearly that the OSGF leadership was not in any way involved in the alleged misconduct as it has always maintained a strong commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity.
“We recognize the efforts of the EFCC on this matter to ensure that those found culpable are held accountable,” he added, just as he urged the public not to speculate or draw conclusions as the investigations are still ongoing.
