POLICE NABS 35-YEAR-OLD ADEOLA ADEWALE FOR MURDER AT SERVICE APARTMENT IN ABULE-EGBA

Detectives at the Lagos State Police Command have arrested the prime suspect in a homicide case involving the suspicious murder of a man at a service apartment Oko-Oba, in the Abule-Egba area of Lagos State.

The suspect is one Adeola Adewale, female, aged 35 years, and she was arrested more than four weeks after the recovery of the dead body of the victim, whose identity has been revealed as 65-year-old Adebayo.

The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed in a statement that Adeola and 65-year-old Adebayo checked into the service apartment on March 27, 2025, and the dead body of the man was found abandoned two days later.

CSP Hundeyin investigations revealed that soon after the partners checked in, Adeola left the apartment in the man's car and some personal belongings, as she informed the housekeeper that she needed to run some errands, but she never returned to the apartment.

He after the dead body was found inside the apartment, detectives also recovered an empty syringe, two empty cans of malt drink, and two bottles of water.

The body was later evacuated and deposited at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) mortuary for autopsy, as detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) took over the case.

The PPRO said during interrogation, Adeola Adewale confessed to administering malt drink laced with a poisonous substance to the deceased, which ultimately led to his death.

He also said the police later recovered the car belonging to the deceased from where it was already put up for sale.
