RIVERS PDP CRISIS: COURT STRIKES OUT MOTION FOR APPEAL BY CHUKWUEMEKA AARON & CO

A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has dismissed a motion on notice by some interested parties seeking to appeal in a suit by WILLIAM FIALASOIKA and twenty four others against the People's Democratic Party over the conduct of state congresses.

The interested parties include the sacked PDP State Chairman CHUKWUEMEA AARON on behalf of those purportedly elected as PDP State Executives; OYE FUBARA IGENEWARI for himself and those elected as Local Government Executives; and THANKGOD BEKE on behalf of elected Wards Executives.

They jointly filed the motion on notice seeking the leave of the court to appeal the judgment, which sacked them from office.

In his ruling, Justice STEPHEN JUMBO dismissed the motion on the ground that PDP as the defendant had already filed an appeal against the judgment, which nullified the PDP congresses.

The Rivers State High Court presided over by Justice STEPHEN JUMBO had on January 13, 2025, in a suit by WILLIAM FIALASOIKA and twenty four others, against PDP sacked the state, local government and ward executives of PDP led by CHUKWUEMEKA AARON after nullifying the congresses that produced them.
