SOWORE GETS 7-DAY ULTIMATUM TO RETRACT MALICIOUS POST AGAINST PRESIDENT TINUBU
The Department of State Service, DSS, has given OMOYELE SOWORE – the publisher of Sahara Reporters, a one-week deadline to retract his social media post about President BOLA TINUBU, which the secret police consider to be false, malicious, and inciting.
DSS warned that failure by SOWORE to comply with the demands, it would be forced to explore all lawful means to protect national security and public order.
The DSS had in a letter dated September 7, 2025, accused SOWORE of making criminal and derogatory remarks against President TINUBU in a post on X on August 26.
The former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress had accused the President of lying to Nigerians and described him as a criminal for reportedly claiming that corruption no longer existed under his administration.
However, the DSS in the letter signed by its Director of Legal Services, UWEM DAVIES, claimed that SOWORE’s remarks sparked anger among citizens and could incite public disturbance, disunity, and even insurrection.
